However, I think photos like those you have chosen misrepresent the Garbage Patch. It doesn't look anything like that now and won't in the future. I also think industry need to do it's part. 20% of the plastic in the patch is pre-production plastic pellets (called nurdles). Another significant portion comes from the fishing industry. So, yes let's do the little things, but lets also do the big things like involving industry and strengthening the laws governing the ocean. Andrew,
